- 12 tablespoons of wheat flour

METHOD OF PREPARATION:
- Before starting the sponge cake recipe, gather all the items on the ingredients list to speed up the process.
- So, the first step is to take the eggs and separate the yolks from the whites. Distribute the yolks and whites in separate bowls (do this with room temperature eggs so the cake rises evenly in the oven).

Then, add the sifted flour and baking powder, mixing gently with a wooden spoon, thus obtaining a fluffy and airy dough (a golden tip is to pass the egg yolks through a sieve to remove the skin, this avoids the smell and taste of eggs).
- In a greased and floured cake tin with a hole in the centre, carefully transfer the batter into the tin, avoiding losing the air from the egg whites, and then bake in a preheated oven at 200ºC for around 20 minutes.
- Finally, remove the dough from the oven and unmold it to cool.
