Ingredients that go into the chocolate muffin recipe:
- 1 and 3/4 cups of wheat flour
- 2 teaspoons yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup refined sugar (preferably confectioner's sugar)
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (or finely chopped chocolate)
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Special equipment: Muffin tin and muffin papers (mini-cake)
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
- First of all, preheat your oven to a temperature of 200ºC.
- Then, in a large container, add all the dry ingredients (cocoa, sugar, flour, yeast, baking soda and 3/4 cup of chocolate chips) and mix everything together.
- But set aside 1/4 of the chocolate chips to use at the end of the recipe (on top of the muffins).
- Now add all the liquid ingredients into a measuring cup and mix. Then add the dry ingredients to the liquid ingredients and mix them together.
- Then, distribute the muffin papers in a mold and, using a tablespoon, place the mixture in the molds. Usually, 1 and 1/2 tablespoons is enough for each mold, but distribute until the mixture is finished.
- Finally, sprinkle the chocolate chips that were set aside on top and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, until they have risen and turned a darker shade.
- Finish by doing the toothpick test, which can also be done with raw spaghetti to see if it's cooked through. Pierce the muffin and check if it comes out clean and fluffy.
- Additional Information: When mixing the dry and liquid ingredients, don't stir too much to create a lumpy texture, making it even tastier.
