Ingredients to make ground beef with okra and pumpkin:

  • 200 grams okra
  • 500 grams ground beef (rump)
  • 200 g pumpkin cut into medium cubes
  • 1 clove of minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 can of peeled tomatoes
  • 1 handful of mint leaves
  • olive oil for cooking

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

  1. Start by cleaning the okra and cutting it without the stems and tips. Then slice it into rounds and set aside.
  2. Then, in a pan, add the olive oil to brown the garlic and add the okra, frying it until it is lightly golden, which takes 5 minutes. Set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the onion and ground beef, browning everything. Once it has fried and gained more color and lost its raw appearance, add the Worcestershire sauce along with the seasonings.
  4. Right after adding the tomato and okra, let it cook for a few more minutes and add the pumpkins, stirring occasionally and cooking until it becomes soft and firm at the same time.
  5. Finally, when cooking everything is ready, ground beef with okra and pumpkin!
