Anyone who loves fried snacks will probably love today's recipe. Today we have tempura, which is nothing more than a technique of coating ingredients in a batter and frying them in hot oil.

This tempura is originally from Portugal, but it was the Japanese who took over this technique with very different ingredients. That's why the ice cream ended up here!

Ingredients that go into the fried ice cream recipe:

  • Milk or water – 1 cup
  • Egg – 1 unit
  • Self-rising wheat flour – 1 cup
  • Ice cream of your choice – 1 pot
  • Simple cake – 200 grams
  • Frying oil

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

  1. First of all, take 4 scoops of the ice cream of your chosen flavor, transfer them to a plate and leave them in the freezer for about 1 hour, leaving them firmer so you can work with them more easily.
  2. Now make a kind of crumble with the cake in the processor, this is what will coat your ice cream.
  3. Right after the freezer time has passed, take the ice cream balls and dip them in the crumbs you made with the cake, pressing them down a little so that they stick to the ice cream.
  4. Then wrap each ball in aluminum foil and return them to the refrigerator for half an hour to an hour.
  5. After reserving some of the remaining cake crumbs (we will still use them), blend the egg with the milk (or water). Then, while beating, gradually add the flour and continue beating to incorporate everything.
  6. Once done, the batter will be thin, resembling pancake batter. Store in the refrigerator immediately.
  7. Then heat a pan with oil over high heat. While it heats, leave the ice cream balls unwrapped. Cover with the tempura and then with the remaining cake crumbs.
  8. Then fry these balls just until golden brown and then place them on a plate with absorbent paper. Remember that since they are ice cream balls, do not fry them too much, as they may melt.
  9. Finally, serve the fried ice cream when it is drier.

Additional Information:

  • Cake: we suggest you buy those cakes that come ready-made or make one box cake, because they give the ideal texture for making stuffing.
  • Breading: If you wish, you can choose to replace the leftover cake with ground corn flakes or even breadcrumbs, but the frying result will not be the same.
  • Pasta: If you only have flour available that has been separated from the yeast, add 1 teaspoon of yeast to the flour. Even if the dough remains heavy when mixed in the blender, start mixing it manually.
