But today we are going to learn about a simple and traditional recipe in Brazil, to start, see the list of ingredients:
- 2 eggs;
- 1 kg of wheat flour;
- 1 tablespoon of salt;
- 3 level tablespoons of granulated bread yeast
- ½ cup of oil;
- 250ml of warm milk;
- 6 tablespoons of sugar.
In a small bowl, mix 4 tablespoons of wheat, salt, 2 tablespoons of sugar, warm milk and bread yeast, then set aside to rise a little, it will become like porridge.
In a larger bowl, add the eggs, oil, the rest of the sugar and the “porridge” mixture little by little, then add the wheat flour until it reaches a more consistent point.
Set aside to rise and double in volume. Once this happens, you can prepare the sweet bread however you prefer, whether it's braiding it, rolling it up or leaving it however you like.
Once they are all ready, let them rise for a few more minutes and then it's time to bake. Leave them on low heat for about 20 minutes, but check them constantly to see if they are done.
Cream topping
The versatility of sweet bread is remarkable. It can be enriched with candied fruit, raisins, chocolate, nuts or spices, giving it an infinite number of flavors and textures.
Furthermore, it is common to find roofing sugared or glazed that add an extra layer of indulgence to the bread.
A very common topping in bakeries is cream, for which you need the following ingredients:
- 1 can of condensed milk;
- 100g of cream;
- 500ml of milk;
- 50ml coconut milk;
- 3 sifted egg yolks;
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence;
- 30 grams of wheat flour.
In a blender, beat all the ingredients until they form a homogeneous mixture. Then, place the entire mixture in a pan and stir over low heat until it begins to thicken.
Once it has cooled, you can start spreading it on top of the bread, either with a piping bag or with a spoon. Be creative when decorating and you will see how this recipe wins hearts and bellies.
