Ingredients for Portuguese cod cake;
- 1 kg of potatoes
- 500 g shredded and desalted cod
- 100 ml olive oil
- 1 onion
- 2 spoons of wheat
- 1 spoon of parsley
- 4 cloves of garlic
- Salt to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
- Start by soaking the cod in cold water for 12 hours. After that, put the cod in a pan to cook for 15 minutes, check if it is cooked after that.
- When it is cooked, place it on a clean cloth and use a whisk to shred it and remove all the bones. Cook the potatoes using the cod water and squeeze them into a puree.
- Add the olive oil and well-beaten onion to another pan and then add the crushed garlic. In this stew, mix the cod and potatoes. Add the flour and parsley little by little and stir constantly with a wooden spoon until it becomes consistent. Set aside and wait to cool.
- Now make balls or long shapes with your hands greased with flour. Little by little, fry the dumplings in mild oil so they don't get greasy.
