Uramaki is nothing more than a super common sushi from oriental cuisine, where salmon is one of the most consumed in this part of the world. So let's go to the kitchen and make this recipe!

Ingredients to make salmon uramakis:

  • Nori seaweed sheets – 1 unit
  • Gohan type Japanese rice – 50 g
  • Salmon – 300 g
  • Cream Cheese to taste
  • Sesame

Accompaniments to salmon urumakis:

  • Wasabi – 1 sachet
  • Shoyu sauce

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

  1. First, cut the nori seaweed into rectangle-shaped pieces.
  2. Then use as much rice as it can cover the entire nori. Then distribute the sesame seeds over all the rice.
  3. Then, turn the nori upside down. Then make a cut by dividing a portion of the salmon with the same proportion and place it in the center of the nori.
  4. Soon after, add and position the cream cheese next to the salmon.
  5. Now use a sushi mat and continue rolling the sheet and giving it a good press, so that it forms a rectangle shape.
  6. Then divide it in half and leave these pieces cut next to each other. Once again, cut in half and repeat this with the remaining pieces, always in the middle.
  7. Finally, serve your pieces of Salmon Uramaki, along with soy sauce and wasabi.

How and when did Salmon Uramakis come about?

It was back in the 70s that this dish was created, emerging based on hossomaki, which is sushi that rolls outwards.

However, the great popularity it gained in the West caused discomfort due to the texture of the nori.

Therefore, a creation adapted this dish in Los Angeles – California, using a typical Japanese seaweed only surrounding the sushi filling.

As a result, this adaptation spread throughout the region, it also spread throughout the world and became a delicacy of Japanese cuisine.
