Ingredients to make Potato Pie:

For the pie:

  • 1 egg
  • 500 g of boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 15 g unsalted butter
  • 150 g wheat flour
  • salt
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing
  • grated parmesan for sprinkling

For the filling:

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • half an onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 500 g ground beef
  • salt
  • 1 tomato, skinned and seeded, chopped
  • 200 g chopped green olives
  • 2 boiled eggs
  • 1 cup of cream cheese
  • 100 g grated cheese  

HOW TO PREPARE POTATO PIE:

  1. To start the recipe, mash the potatoes and place them in a pan. Add the butter, egg, salt and wheat flour to the pan and mash again until you get a dough with a uniform consistency. Set aside.
  2. Now, in another pan, add olive oil, onion and garlic, letting them brown, and then add the meat and tomatoes to the pan. Avoid the meat from clumping together and let the water drain out.
  3. And then add the rest of the ingredients and mix them, except the grated cheese.
  4. Next, take a baking dish and line it with half of the potato dough. Then, add the ground beef filling. Then, line it with the other half of the dough and sprinkle the mozzarella on top.
  5. The last step is to place it in the preheated oven until golden brown, which will take around twenty minutes. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
