So let's learn some recipes to surprise your guests. These recipes can be used not only at dinner but at any time of the year.
French toast pie
Ingredients
- 50 ml rum
- 50g raisins
- 1 medium banana
- 1 small apple
- 1 loaf of stale French bread
- 100 ml of milk
- 250g condensed milk
- 1 egg
- 30g melted butter
- 120g of cornstarch biscuits
Method of preparation

Place the raisins and rum in a bowl and let sit overnight.
Crumble the cornstarch biscuits and mix with the melted butter until it forms a crumbly mixture.
Set aside a springform pan, add the cookie dough with a spoon and spread it until the entire bottom is covered with the dough.
Take a bowl and add the raisins with the rum, milk, condensed milk and egg, mix well until you get a smooth texture.
Slice the French bread and spread the slices on the bottom of the pan, leaving two slices aside for finishing. Pour the cream into the pan.
Cut the banana into slices, peel the apple, remove the core and cut into slices and add over ⅓ of the cream.
Crumble the two slices of bread and place on top of the fruit. Add the remaining cream and bake in another pan in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 1 hour. After baking, sift cinnamon powder to finish.
Chocolate mousse – one of the easiest Christmas desserts to do
Ingredients
- 3 spoons of butter
- 8 eggs
- 250g milk chocolate
- 250g of semisweet chocolate
Method of preparation
Add the chocolates and butter to a bowl and microwave for 40 seconds.
In a mixer, beat 4 egg whites until stiff and set aside. In a mixer, beat 4 more egg whites and add the egg yolks, still with the mixer on, and add the melted chocolate and beat a little more.
Turn off and mix in the 4 reserved egg whites, place in a bowl and refrigerate for 3 hours.
Simple pavé
Ingredients
- 1 packet of champagne biscuits
- 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 cups of sugar
- 6 tablespoons cornstarch
- 840g of creamy guava jam
Method of preparation
Beat the sugar with the egg yolks in a mixer until it becomes a cream.
In a pan, add this cream along with the vanilla essence, milk and cornstarch diluted in the milk to avoid lumps.
Cook over low heat and stir constantly until it becomes a cream. In a large bowl, make a layer of champagne biscuits and cream and place in the freezer for 10 minutes or until firm.
Once the cream is firm, add half of the guava paste and spread it out.
Make another layer of champagne biscuit and cream, put it back in the freezer for 3 minutes. Finally, add the rest of the guava paste and put it in the fridge for 3 hours.
Red fruit parfait with chocolate sauce
Ingredients
- ½ cup of raspberries
- ½ cup of blackberries
- 1 cup of strawberries
- 150 g of meringues
- 500ml whipped cream
Syrup
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- ½ cup of water
- 1 tablespoon of demerara sugar
- 200 g of semisweet chocolate
Method of preparation
Line the bottom of a 24×10 cm pan with plastic wrap. Add a layer of whipped cream and the chopped fruit and meringues, cover with another layer of whipped cream.
Repeat this procedure 4 times.
The last layer will be whipped cream, cover with plastic wrap and place in the freezer for 3 hours.
In a pan, mix all the syrup ingredients, cook over low heat until you get a smooth, creamy texture.
After the parfait has been in the fridge for 3 hours, unmold it onto a plate or container of your choice and pour the warm syrup over it, then serve immediately.
Berry Cheesecake
Ingredients
- 400 g frozen mixed berries
- juice of 1 lemon
- 2 eggs
- 150 g sugar
- 700 g cream cheese
- 130 g melted butter
- 250 g of cornstarch biscuits
Method of preparation
Crush the cookies until they become flour, add the butter and mix well. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and leave for 10 minutes.
Using a mixer, beat the cream cheese and half of the sugar, add one egg at a time, beating constantly.
Add half of the lemon juice and half of the mixed berries and stir. Pour this mixture into the pan with the biscuits.
Cook in a bain-marie for 45 minutes, then refrigerate for 6 hours. In a saucepan, add the remaining sugar, lemon juice and mixed berries, bring to the boil and stir until melted.
Strain and add over the cheesecake.
Croissant Pudding
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup refined sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 and ¼ fresh cream
- ⅓ white raisins
- 6 croissants, cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Method of preparation
Grease a 20 cm baking dish with butter. Spread half of the croissants, then spread all the raisins and finally the remaining croissants.
In a bowl, mix the milk, cream, cinnamon, sugar and eggs, pour this mixture into the baking dish over the croissants and raisins and leave for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, bake in a bain-marie over medium heat for 30 minutes. A very interesting tip is to serve with whipped cream.
