Ingredients and utensils to make the Japanese food recipe – sushi:

  • 1 treadmill
  • 1 wooden board
  • ½ tablespoon of salt
  • 1 medium-sized plastic or glass bowl
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 roll of plastic film
  • 3 teacups of water
  • 1 sharp knife
  • Ingredients of your choice (tuna, salmon, cucumber, mango, etc.)
  • plastic or wooden spatula
  • colander
  • 1 and ½ cups sushi rice
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

  1. First, leave the mat positioned on a plastic film and wrap it just to wrap it, giving it around two or three turns with the plastic film completely covering the surface of the mat, until it is relatively rigid.
  2. Then prepare the rice for sushi, but first wash it repeatedly in the colander until the water runs translucent.
  3. Once done, put the rice on the fire in a covered pan with water. Wait for the rice to absorb all the water in the pan.
  4. While the rice is on the fire, mix the sugar, salt and rice vinegar so that you can dilute them. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a plastic or glass bowl.
  5. Then, pour this mixture of sugar, salt and vinegar into the rice and incorporate it well using a spatula. Then cut the desired ingredients into strips.
  6. Now leave the nori seaweed sheet with moistened hands, laid out on the plastic mat, this prevents the rice from sticking.
  7. Then distribute the seasoned rice over the surface of the nori seaweed. Afterwards, place the strips of the ingredient you chose (these ingredients will be in the central part of the sushi so you can wrap the rice with the seaweed).
  8. In order not to spread all the contents while rolling, hold the ends of this mat with your hands, use your thumbs and index fingers to hold the ends of the mat with the other fingers, press the ingredients.
  9. Roll up the mat, pressing well until you ensure that the seaweed does not come off the rice. Once it rolls up, remove the mat.
  10. This way, transfer the rolled sushi to the wooden board, cutting like pieces of sushi with a knife, then your sushi is ready to serve.

Additional Information:

  • Preparation: When making sushi pieces, heat and/or moisten the knife blade so the rice doesn't stick to it.
  • Flavors: You can repeat this process of assembling the sushi to have several rolls and different flavors.
